Overseas Trip

In January, my college friends and I were chatting about my overseas trip to China, from that 30 minute chat conference a plan was formulated. Five of us would be able to meet up during the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival week. I was really excited about that trip, but didn't want to write about it for fear that it might not push through.
Last week I went to China and Hongkong to celebrate Chinese New Year with my dad and to see my friends. I spent about 1 day travelling to get to Shekou and spent 6 days there. The first few days was spent visiting my dad's friends, celebrating and mostly resting and taking a break from my life in Australia.
I was able to see Care Bear on Wednesday where we spent an hour finishing 'Time Crisis 3" in the arcade and most of the whole day talking, getting lost and catching up. We had a lot of laughs and the realization that Care Bear is finally a grown up! (hehe!)
Thursday was rainy and I spent the day reading and waiting for Rhe and Ron to arrive. I picked them up from the ferry terminal. Unfortunately, Rhe's luggage was not on the ferry and that kind of made us sad (my "pasalubong" had to wait). The next day, we had brunch with my dad and my brother then went to Window of the World. About 4 hours was spent walking, taking pictures and talking. We gave up after walking half the day so we went to have a foot massage, which is really worth the money. After the massage, we went to dinner with my dad's friends and they made my friends eat all sort of weird stuff (i.e. snake skin, duck tongue, etc).
Saturday, we took the ferry to HK and met up with two more friends. Poor Ron, surrounded by girls who never stop chatting! HK was foggy but still nice. There is an energy to HK that is uniquely it's own. I feel it whenever I go there and it never fails to invigorate me into shopping. :) In HK, the first order of business was food! Jollibee to be exact, my friends were forced to accompany me and eat something they could have anytime in MLA. After which, we went to buy some electronic stuff and then the LV bag. (that was the highlight of the day!) We walked around, rode the tram, shopped at Victoria Peak (couldn't see the view due to fog), talked (with me ending up hitting my friend), took a cab ride with the driver intent on making us dizzy because we were noisy, ate dinner and drank some alcoholic drinks at Shaui's place. We were up till 4am reminiscing and catching up. Here are some pictures that Ays took (I don't like taking pictures).
Sunday morning was spent sleeping and eating brunch. Then check-in for me as I was first to leave with the farthest distance to travel (had to be back at work on Monday). We walked around a bit more and at 2pm I left HongKong and my friends. I was a bit sad, but I knew we would see each other again sometime in the next year or two.
