I was in Melbourne last week for this account I'm handling at the moment. From Tuesday to Saturday I met heaps of new people, mostly geriatric ones since my client's business are aged care centers. I met some nasty people as well who made my stay less enjoyable than it should have been. I can't believe that someone can make up stories about me in 3 days and has only talked to me for a total of 2 hours max! My mistake was that I never paid her any attention, so I was just nodding the whole way through without considering her words! That should teach me a lesson...
Aside from that, I learned a whole lot about the aged care business. It's very difficult taking care of old people.... I don't think I would have the patience and dedication that it requires. It's also more complicated than I thought it would be. I guess having employess with different agendas can do that to any business.
Seeing them also made me realize that I don't want to grow old here. I want to be in my country to live when I get to the retiring years. This is one great incentive for me to save money and make sure that I don't live my dying years here in this country.
The highlight of my trip was seeing Loren and Marx on Friday night. It was such a great coincidence that they planned their trip during the week that I was going as well. I was the party crasher on their honeymoon! It was just a spur of the moment trip that turned out well for me because they were going to be there as well. We went to the Crowne Plaza where they were celebrating Chinese New Year. There were some attractions and so much food going around! It was really nice and relaxing, just walking around having coffee and talking with good friends.
Overall, the trip wasn't too bad. I'm just not in a hurry to go back though! :)
