The Aviator and Ray

Three days, two movies.... Hmmm.... Seems like I'm not saving money at all! I did buy a membership card to this one movie house where I can buy tickets at half price, so it's not too bad. Sunday, I watched The Aviator with my brother after eating yum-cha for lunch. The movie was actually really good even with Leo as the leading role (I really don't like him much, seems to me he's always shouting in his movies). Howard Hughes was a really interesting man and the pace of the movie was quite fast. I was hardly bored (having Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale as leading ladies helped too!) and was a bit disappointed that the movie did not end the way I though it would. For those who hasn't seen the movie I'm not going to spoil it for you. My opinion is just that it should have been longer, but then the title of the movie would not be the Aviator if they did. Oh well! Bottom line is it was good.
Ray was another movie that I wasn't disappointed in. Jamie Foxx was good! He deserved his award. It was interesting to see Ray's life and his childhood without it being boring. What can I say, I like Ray Charles and it was good to see that they were honest about his heroin addiction.
Anyway, my movie list seems to be getting longer instead of shorter. Now I'm looking forward to Constantine, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Star Wars, War of the Worlds, Hitch, Batman Begins and a whole lot more! I still haven't seen Alexander and The House of Flying Daggers is showing now and I'm watching that on Saturday. This would be the first time for me to watch these Chinese movies in the big screen. It's a shame I only saw Hero on DVD. Anyway, here's to more movies and my money going with it!
