2004 is over and done with, 2005 is now here. Last year I kept on saying that I couldn't wait for the year to be over. This was the first time that I've hated a year so much! Thankfully a year doesn't last forever....
Anyway, for the new year I went out to Surfers Paradise with Loren and Marx. Because I was sick, they drove all the way here to see me. We had lunch, coffee and watched the Incredibles (really good movie!) . It was a good day and a really nice way to start the new year. Apart from not being able to talk as much as I do (my throat is really sore), I had a really good time. Here's to hoping that the whole year would be the same!
Aside, there was one line in the movie that got stuck in my head, "we are always finding ways to reward mediocrity". When Mr. Incredible said this line I was struck by how that true it is, especially here where most (i'm not saying all) people are content with being where they are and just doing what they do. Probably, that's why I'm bored here. The usual drama of life is gone, replaced with a feeling that I live in a place where people are almost dronelike.
