I'll be going to China this October and I think I should be happy about it. But I'm not, sad to say. The saying "so sclose yet so far away" seems to be so appropriate for this event. My only real desire at the moment is to have a holiday in the Philippines, and to be only an hour and a half away is almost heartbreaking. The two redeeming aspects of this trip are 1) I'm going to see my dad after 16 months and 2) shopping! One of the things that lifts my spirit these past few months is knowing that I would buy something nice for me or someone else.
We have to find our happiness in the little things that happen in life no matter how small. Going to the beach, watching a movie or tv, seeing the full moon, playing cards, going to the gym and spending time with friends are the things that make life worthwhile at the moment. Looking for work is really draining! I'm going to enjoy this coming holiday to the fullest, and leave the part of me that would be wishing the whole time that I was in Manila behind.
