I was talking to a patient today and the subject of looking for a boy came up. She suggested that I put an ad in the newspaper. Apparently that was how she found her partner. I thought she was joking but it's true. They have been together for a couple of years now (isn't that amazing?!). She said that she got about 50 replies, she went to meet all of them and she found her guy. I wonder if putting a personal ad is the only way to meet men now. Are the men all in hiding waiting for an invitation rather than going out there and actually trying to meet girls? Is an ad the answer for all the single ladies looking for a guy? My friends and i are always wondering where to meet eligible men. Maybe this is the answer or maybe not.
No matter how hard it is being alone i think i will never muster enough courage to do so.

You know what? I actually posted a personal ad on a website here in Singapore. Purely just for a lark. Pero I decided not to go for it kasi 80% of the replies I got were men looking for free sex. Sabi ko, hello lang, I am not into that kind of thing.
Do you know how much worse it is here in Singapore? People actually pay professional matchmakers! There is a service here called "Lunch Actually" where for a fee you get introduced to people and date only during your lunch break! I mean is society in the first world become that pathetic that we have lost our capacity for genuine spontaneous human interaction? What the f*** happened to love at first sight or natural chemistry?
